Boots Road Project
A young family purchased a home with a beautiful view of the Monterey Peninsula off the Monterey-Salinas Highway, with the intention of remodeling it in order to open up the floor plan and living space for their family to enjoy for many years to come. Honored to be selected for the project, it became one of our favorites, as this home required the installation of a custom-built glulam beam that was so heavy and so large, it required a team of professional home movers to lift it in place! And the results were well worth it, as it completely transformed the home’s interior space from one that was closed and disjointed to one that was bright, airy, connected and vibrant, providing that central open space that it was previously lacking.
Unfortunately, the original contractor for this project cost the homeowner dearly with poor workmanship and put the structure at risk with poor shoring. Luckily the homeowner found us in time before more damage was done to the home, but the extra cost couldn’t be recouped. Make sure you do your research and hire a contractor that comes highly recommended that you can trust!
